The mat (also known as Contrology) refers to the original name given by Joseph Pilates to his method of physical fitness. It emphasizes the principles of control, precision, centering, breath and flow of movement. Contrology, now commonly known as Pilates, focuses on developing a strong core, improving flexibility, and promoting overall body awareness and control through a series of controlled and purposeful exercises. I include the use of the Powercircle in my some of my mat classes so you can go deeper into the work!

Sara fell in love with Pilates over 25 years ago and became a certified teacher trainer after experiencing the benefits herself. She has experience working with clients of all ages and abilities, with severe conditions, professional athletes, and has been featured in fitness publications including Shape magazine and Pilates Style. In addition to owning a Pilates studio, Sara also owns a boutique that sells athliesure wear and home items. She lives in Cherry Hills Village with her husband, three kids, and dog.
